Development 9

Printmaking has been one of my passion of the university (as it is not entirely possible to do that at home). I love making etchings and using aquatint, although, in LondonMet it has been banned. That led me to stick with etching mostly but I also tried drypoint and linocut.

The biggest print from this year, inspired by the song/meme Looking for my leopard. It does not have a name yet, but the visuals are thought out, there is a potential story.

Details

I made a few plates last year but never had a chance to print them so now has been my time. For the first time, I experimented a lot with colours and am pretty happy with the outcome. The prints do not look as creepy, the colour floods them with some kind of different energy.

Lizard and girl (2020+2021)
Jews (2020+2021) blue

Here are some more new prints from this year:

Nida
Autoportrait

Drypoint on zinc:

Howly evening

It has been extremely satisfying to remember the techniques that I learned a few years ago, techniques that were used hundreds of years ago, and to learn them by heart. My plan further is to try and do some printmaking at home.
